See the Brockhole Ferry Jetty in full winter glory

We've added some stunning photos of the Brockhole Ferry Jetty on Lake Windermere this winter, showing the icy peaks of the Lake District in the background.  The jetty was completed in 2011 by Marine Designs.

Crew Transfer Pontoon photos added to London Array Gallery

The London Array Windfarm pontoons were completed in late 2011 by Marine Designs.

Marine Designs to launch new pontoon

Marine Designs is to launch a brand new pontoon design for 2012.  The 6 metre wide x 27 metre long, 150 tonne DockMaster concrete pontoon will be available shortly, and initial enquiries are welcome.

 

This is a precursor to the 10 metre wide x 27 metre DockMaster at present in design stage. More detail and images will be available soon.

First floating ferry jetty project completed

The first ever floating jetty project on Lake Windermere has been completed by Marine Designs Ltd, part of the A&P Group.

 

Marine Designs Ltd, based in Falmouth, Cornwall, designs and builds heavy-duty pontoon systems, many of which are used in the offshore wind renewable sector.

 

The company designed and installed Brockhole Jetty, on the shores of Lake Windermere between Ambleside and Bowness. The jetty was commissioned by the Lake District National Park Authority to provide better access to the Windermere ferries.

Marine Designs Ltd. win contract with Grimsby Fish Dock

Marine Designs Limited have announced at this month’s Seawork International 2011 exhibition that it has been awarded a contract to build and install their award winning Dockmaster pontoon system within the Grimsby Fish Docks.

 

As part of an ongoing agreement between the Grimsby Fish Dock Enterprise and Centrica the companies will use the pontoons as a docking station to enable the safe transfer of offshore and marine personnel from port to their offshore wind farm.  Six of the innovative Dockmaster concrete pontoon units will be supplied by September 2011.

Marine Designs will be present at the UK Offshore Wind Supply Chain event this Tuesday, 15th February.  The event, which takes place at The Twickenham Experience centre at Twickenham Stadium, is free of charge and aimed at all companies involved in the offshore wind industry.

Organised by EnviroBusiness, RegenSW and Orbis Energy, and supported by The Crowne Estate and DECC, over 500 delegates from the offshore industry are expected to attend.  If you're at the event, make sure to say a quick hello to the Marine Designs team.

Marine Designs Pontoons Survive Storm Force Conditions

Marine Designs' recent offshore wind pontoon installations were subject to storm force 11 conditions during November 2010, as you can see in this video.  Wind strengths were recorded at 55 knots whilst filming, increasing to 79 knots during the night.
 

Marine Designs win Green Energy award

Marine Designs Ltd has scooped a Green Energy award for their innovative DockMaster pontoon system.

The Best Business Innovation Award was presented at the annual Regen SW Green Energy Awards in Bath.  Regen SW is the renewable energy agency for South West England and its awards are regarded as the Oscars of the region’s renewable energy industry.
